"If it ain't broke, don't fix it." Anyone still living by this motto? With some exceptions, the operating principle in today's throwaway culture often seems more like "If it ain't perfect, chuck it" - whether that's a last season fashion item, food five minutes past its sell by date, or a human being with a genetic abnormality or terminal illness.
Whether each of us prefers to doggedly maintain the status quo, or to strive for never-ending improvement, the fact of damage and deterioration remains. What is our attitude towards it?
Perhaps our senses are not always reliable here. As we enter autumn, "change and decay in all around I see" (as the classic hymn says) - think falling leaves and disappearing sunshine! And yet we know new life and growth will bide their time underground through winter, refusing to let our little losses become permanent. Could the same be true with our identities and our relationships?
Come along to this totally free, informal, all-ages event, where we'll fuel our hope that even the most important things can be made better than new! It will include music from our special guest Chukwuemeka, pumpkin spice hot chocolate, and an extended time of praise and worship... sound like an unusual mix? Find out a bit more here.
