Good news, bad news, or fake news?

In a seemingly ever more polarised culture, what is fantastic news to some can seem like terrible news to others - often revealing the inner aspirations and values we hold.

Most of us shy away from being the bearer of bad news. But when a simply-stated opinion lands as “hate”, the idea of “don't shoot the messenger!" is no defence against ninja keyboard warriors.

“No news is good news” doesn’t always ring true in a time of waiting and hoping. Surely “any publicity is good publicity” must have its limits! And the primitive fake news of nearly a decade ago has given way to slick AI mimicry, making discerning truth from fiction even more difficult.

What outgoing messages do each of us convey? What incoming messages surround us? And how do those messages shape us?

Come along to this totally free, informal, all-ages event, where we'll seek to hear a true message for our times! It will include music from our special guest Ingrid Edouard Szot, mulled wine and hot chocolate, and an extended time of praise and worship... sound like an unusual mix? Find out a bit more here.

This is an invitation-only celebration. If you're reading this then you are invited - and you can certainly invite others! Ideally we want everyone there to know at least one other person in the room, but space is finite and we need to keep track of numbers. So if you're planning to attend yourself, feel free to think about others who might like to join you, then invite them by giving them the link to this webpage.

Our event is "bring and share" - so if you'd like to eat, or drink something other than winter warmers, please bring snacks and ready-to-eat food with you to share!

Date: Sunday 14th December 2025

Time: 5pm start - don't be late! - programme ends by 7pm

Cost: free to attend, but donations on the night (to cover costs and fund future events) will be gratefully received

Venue: St Joseph’s Parish Hall, Lamb’s Buildings, 15 Lamb’s Passage, London, EC1Y 8LE

Map and photo of entrance to venue below.

It's a few mins walk from Liverpool Street, Old Street, Barbican and Moorgate Stations, just inside the congestion zone. Local free parking is limited (click on "street" tab).
