H E A L I N G
Who, what, when, where, how?
"The sun of righteousness will rise with healing in its wings” - Malachi 4:2
“He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning nor crying nor pain any more, for the former things have passed away.” - Revelation 21:4
🙏 Lord, increase my vision of what healing means for me
🙏 Thank you Lord for your promises of healing
God - source of life and healing
“Of course I want to - be healed!” - Matthew 8:3
“He himself bore our sins in his body on the cross, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; “by his wounds you have been healed.” - 1 Peter 2:24
🙏 Lord, help me believe you desire to heal me
🙏 Lord, increase my own desire to be healed
🙏 Lord, help me understand healing from your mysterious and eternal perspective
🙏 Thank you Lord for helping me undergo what feels painful in the healing process
Deprivation
If things we needed were missing or withheld, we may need the healing of "nourishment"
🙏 Lord, show me what you intended for me that was missing earlier in my life
🙏 Lord, help me be open to receiving now what was lacking then
🙏 Lord, reveal to me what that might look like
🙏 Thank you Lord for providing the nourishment I need in your own way and in your own time
Wounding
If outside forces hurt us in some way, we may need the healing of "remedial care"
🙏 Lord, show me how I have been wounded by people and outside influences
🙏 Lord, help me be open to receiving remedial care for those wounds
🙏 Lord, reveal to me what that might look like
🙏 Thank you Lord for providing the remedial care I need in your own way and in your own time
Overgrowth
If we were left to go our own way too much, we may need the healing of "pruning"
🙏 Lord, show me where my growth has not been balanced or guided well
🙏 Lord, help me be open to receiving pruning in those areas
🙏 Lord, reveal to me what that might look like
🙏 Thank you Lord for providing the pruning I need in your own way and in your own time
Healing on God's timeline
🙏 Lord, help me believe you can heal things that happened anytime in the past
🙏 Lord, help me believe you are ready to heal today
🙏 Thank you Lord that your timing is perfect
Stepping into healing
🙏 Lord, show me where you want me to step into healing
🙏 Lord, give me the courage to do that
🙏 Thank you Lord that you are with me as I step forward
Ready and patient
🙏 Lord, I am ready to step forward
🙏 Lord, I am also willing to wait patiently on you
🙏 Thank you Lord that you are ready to heal and you are patient with me
Letting go
🙏 Lord, I am willing to give up my ways of measuring and monitoring my healing when they are no longer helpful
🙏 Lord, I give you control - Father, you are the vinedresser (John 15:1)
🙏 Thank you Lord for the signs of growth and healing you allow me to see, in your wisdom and kindness
Reaching/receiving
🙏 Lord, help me tolerate the vulnerability of waiting to receive healing
🙏 Lord, help me find the courage and motivation to reach out for healing
🙏 Lord, guide me to find the right balance between the two
🙏 Thank you Lord that you call me to participate in my own healing journey, by responding to your initiative
Doing my part
🙏 Lord, I take responsibility for what belongs to me, no more and no less
🙏 Lord, I'm open to healing - to nourishment, remedial care, pruning
🙏 Lord, I'm sorry for the ways I have contributed to my own deprivation, wounding or overgrowth
🙏 Lord, I forgive others for the ways they contributed
🙏 Lord, I trust in your healing and thank you that you are healing me
🙏 Lord, I remain at the cross, waiting to see what you give me in exchange for what I have given you
Walking the walk
🙏 Lord, help me continue my healing journey beyond this place
🙏 Lord, give me consistency with my readiness and my patience, with my reaching and my receiving
🙏 Lord, keep me attentive to your healing work happening in the details of my life
🙏 Thank you Lord for calling me to follow where you lead; thank you that you know where we're going; thank you that it's good
🙏 I say YES
