G I F T
No strings attached?
Bring to mind the best gift you've ever received. What meant more to you: the gift itself, or the intention of the giver?
It's said that on their deathbeds, people generally verbalise gratitude (or regret!) around "intangible goods" - relationships ended or mended, adventures pursued or missed, time taken or spent. As opposed to achievements or possessions acquired.
In a dog-eat-dog world, "the best things in life are free" can sound like a myth. Give 'em an inch and they'll take a mile! Probably better to self-protect, especially when resources seem thin on the ground, right?
But might we end up struggling to trust and receive the generosity of others?
Come along to this totally free, informal, all-ages event where we will explore the vulnerability and joy of abundance! It will include free summery drinks (hard and soft), creative fun, live music from Edwin Fawcett, and an extended time of praise and worship... sound like an unusual mix? Find out a bit more here.
This is an invitation-only celebration, and will be the final Eighth Day event before the project is brought to a close. If you're reading this then you are invited - and you can certainly invite others! Ideally we want everyone there to know at least one other person in the room. Space is finite and we need to keep track of numbers, so if you're planning to attend yourself, feel free to think about others who might like to join you, then invite them by giving them the link to this webpage, and make sure you all RSVP at events@edwinfawcett.com.
Our event is "bring and share" - so if you'd like to eat, or drink something other than the drinks provided, please bring drinks, snacks and ready-to-eat food with you to share!
Date: Sunday 14th June 2026
Time: 5pm start - don't be late! - programme ends by 7pm
Cost: free to attend, but donations on the night (to cover costs and fund future events) will be gratefully received
